Being Santa is about much more than the red suit and white beard. Behind them is a husband, father, stay-at-home dad, foster parent, former paramedic, and longtime youth volunteer who has spent much of his life caring for children and families.

Those experiences taught me something important: every child is different, and every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and special.

​

That belief guides every Santa visit. Some children race through the door ready to tell me everything. Others stay close to Mom or Dad until they're comfortable. That's perfectly okay. I meet children where they are, follow their lead, and never pressure them to sit on Santa's lap or pose for a photograph. Santa should adjust to the child, not the other way around.

My years around children have also taught me the responsibility that comes with a family's trust. When you bring your children to me, I never take that trust lightly.

Ultimately, I don't want your children to feel like they simply saw someone dressed as Santa.

For those few magical moments, they're not just another child waiting in line.
